Hello again! It’s the middle of December and almost the end of 2019! I can’t even believe it! One thing I do know is- the time is going to pass anyway so I might as well be doing something that is going to get me where I want to be.
I think many of us can get stuck in a rut-even while we are in the middle of our health journey. It can be easy for us to “throw away” or “put off” what we really want for a few moments of pleasure.
I know the holidays are a time of celebrating and we American’s love to celebrate with food and wine. It’s easy to feel like we are “missing out” when we say no to unhealthy foods and treats and we don’t partake. This is why it comes down to the importance of owning your health journey. When you are completely convinced that you want/need to get healthy, that so much is at stake to not be at your goal, you will have no trouble resisting the pie, the cake, the cookies. Something I always tell myself during temptation is,”Erica, you can have that _______ later.” Get good at self talk my friend and you will have better success. What is it costing you to remain complacent?
As we are about to embark on a new year, be thinking about a habit you don’t want to bring with you into 2020. This new year ahead is your year to create healthy habits and a better you!
